　私の温かな記憶の象徴である、ホストマザー、クリスティン・チャップマンさん。今回からホストファミリーを卒業されたと聞き、途切れてしまいそうなご縁をどうにか繋ぎたいと願っていたところ、幸運にもネルソン合唱団主催の夕食会でお迎えすることができました。 目の前に現れた彼女は、少しも変わらない朗らかな笑顔と、尽きることのないおしゃべりで、私の心を一瞬にして２年前のネルソンへと連れ戻してくれました。 ホストとゲストという形は変われど、合唱団の歌声のように、私たちの絆もまた形を変えて美しいハーモニーを奏で続けていくのでしょう。この縁という名のメロディが、これからも絶えることなく響き渡ることを願ってやみません。（永井）

Christine Chapman, my host mother, is the very embodiment of my cherished memories. Upon learning that she had retired from hosting, I longed to find a way to keep our connection alive—and, as luck would have it, I was able to welcome her at a dinner hosted by the Nelson Choir. The moment she appeared, her familiar, radiant smile and endless, lively conversation transported me instantly back to Nelson, two years in the past. Though our roles as host and guest have shifted, our bond—much like the voices of a choir—has simply taken on a new form, continuing to create a beautiful harmony. I truly hope that this melody of our connection will continue to resonate, never fading away. (Masatoshi)
