We have returned from the Southern Hemisphere—where the cherry blossoms were in bloom—to an early-autumn Japan, where cosmos flowers sway beautifully in the breeze.
On October 19, we departed from Cowra, Australia, embarking on a 16-hour journey home. After an overnight stop in Auckland, New Zealand, we boarded the final leg of our trip while still sleep-deprived; yet, the time spent on the plane offered a peaceful interlude to reflect on the intense, vibrant days we had just experienced. Those 13 days—packed with goodwill, cultural exchange, countless encounters and farewells, and a series of concerts—flew by like a passing gust of wind. Although we were completely exhausted upon landing at Narita on the evening of the 20th, our faces were far more radiant and full of life than they had been before we left. Carrying the "magic" of this journey within us, we have already pledged to take the next steps forward.
This trip was made possible only through the support of so many people: the organizers in each location, the host families who welcomed us so warmly, our colleagues who kindly supported our departure, and our friends and families. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a part in this endeavor.
Finally, we would like to express our deepest thanks to Conductor Hiroshi Masumoto and Pianist Masako Yuyama, whose meticulous planning guided us toward such a wonderful success. (Katsutoshi Fusimi)
